Sohni Mahiwal released in year 1984, is a romance genre movie directed by Umesh Mehra starring Sunny Deol and Poonam Dhillion in lead roles. Story of the movie is about Shahjada Ijjat Beg (Sunny Deol) who reaches India with his group of people. He settles at a town in Gujarat, where later on he encounters Sohni (Poonam Dhillion) who has a shop of metal pots. Sohni and Shahjada start meeting frequently hideously as they love each other. This romance of them became scandalous in town and Sohni is forced to marry another man named Rehman, who is lunatic. Sohni doesn't stop meeting Ijjat Beg even after marriage.
